On the 6th of January 2018 Muktangan students gathered backstage at the Yashwantrao Chavan Natya Auditorium in various colourful costumes ready to take the stage and present ‘Expressions’, an annual Dance and Drama event set up by Muktangan. The aim of the event is to build the confidence of our students while simultaneously allowing them to showcase their creativity on an external platform.
As part of the event preparations Muktangan teachers & faculty worked together to construct scripts for plays and compose the music for the dance performances. The event was also anchored by two of our own students from std 8.
The theme for the current year was ‘Panchtantra’ a collection of interrelated Indian folk stories. The students engaged the audience through their interpretation the beloved fables by relating them to modern social concerns. The acts also included interspersed dance performances that paid tribute to our soldiers and the sacrifices they have made to protect our national sovereignty.
